If you are interested in Language and Place, you are invited to join Edition #8 of the Language/Place Blog Carnival. It will be hosted by poet & author Walter Bjorkman. Born in Brooklyn, Walter recently moved into the Pennsylvania countryside and blogs at Qwik-Bake Synthetics. The suggested (but not mandatory) theme for edition 8 is “The poetry of place”. The edition is planned for late July 2011. Submissions are open July 1 – 20. More about the blog carnival, here: language place blog carnival: about + links.

Sundress is now accepting nominations for Best of the Net 2010, either from editors or from authors. "The poem, story, or essay must have been first published or appeared on the web between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010." Best of the Net guidelines, deadline 30. 9. The Micro Award is presented annually for the best work of flash fiction originally published in the previous calendar year (now up for nomination: year: 2010, word length: max 1000 words).
