Star Trek: The Revelation

Spock

“Sir, Ambassador Sarak and his wife are my parents.”

Looking back, Captain Kirk saw this statement and the scene wherein it was uttered as a turning point in his relationship with Commander Spock. With profound insight he realized that Spock, far from being the passionless and robotic Science Officer that many on the Enterprise assumed he was, was in fact as deeply caught up in the ongoing drama of mortal relationships and their consequences as any human.

After that time he treated the half-breed with more sensitivity and restraint. Their friendship deepened and they became brothers under the skin.

A teasing storm


Our drought stricken land is in waiting of rain, and Wednesday evening teased us with rumbles of thunder and flashes of light, with winds that promised damaged houses and torn trees, and yet the rain did not come...

From my front verandah I could see the blue tinge and the torn leaves...
